WAS2017 #1 – The Featherweight Cardigan

In addition to trying to create garments that fit well into my existing style and wardrobe, I’ve also been trying as much as I can to work from stash, using up yarn and fabric I’ve collected over the years and not buying anything new unless absolutely necessary. This project was a bit of a cheat on that front, but not exactly. Years ago, when I was still working at Annie &.. Read More

WAF2016 #2: Librarian in the Stacks

I’m a little bit out of order here, as I have a sewn (gasp!) project that was finished first that I also need to show you, but I’ve been wearing it so much it’s kind of constantly in the wash, and also needs to be ironed. So heck with that, and SWEATER! This is Jenny At The Fair, by Mary Jane Mucklestone, from Ysolda’s book The Rhinebeck Sweater. See, there’s.. Read More

It’s like sweater girl-meets-Sandman, and it matches nearly everything I own. The best part? I used up EVERY. LAST. BIT. of.. Read More

It’s like finishing my taxes…

…which I can’t even really say, since for the past few years we’ve had a lovely and capable accountant take care of all that for us. But I am feeling a bit of a rush at the moment to SHOW YOU ALL THE THINGS! that were finished in 2015 and I never got around to blogging. Sound familiar? It’s pretty much my mission statement, I think. This post is going.. Read More

Me and fingering weight sweaters, guys. It’s a real problem. I stashed this yarn (Malabrigo Sock in Ravelry Red) way back when I still worked at Annie’s with the intention of turning it into this sweater. I’ve been making a vested interest lately to work through what I’ve termed “the long-suffering club,” patterns that I’ve had queued on Ravelry upwards of four years. I’m getting there. 🙂 I knit this.. Read More
