When at work, Spotify has become my new best friend, and I’ve had a lot of fun putting together my own playlists. And, because I’m an egotistical jerk, I thought perhaps these lists should be shared. So, if you use Spotify and would like a little new music, may I present: Electro-swing is Rad! (link) 64 tracks, 4 hours My boss got on a bit of a kick recently, as.. Read More
Chard-o-riffic Mac ‘n Cheese. And a monster.
So I began last night’s dinner with Smitten Kitchen’s creamed chard recipe (link) as a jumping-off point. This was the right thing to do. Since I had no spring onions, and a wealth of garlic scapes, I did a little swap. Also, because I did not want to kill the lactose-intolerant Mr. Boyfriend, I used almond milk instead of cow milk. So here we go. 2 bunches chard, thick ribs.. Read More
Welcome to the CSA!
Welp, Week 1 happened: Cougar is less than thrilled with the massive amount of greens on the table. But who cares what she thinks, eh? I volunteered during the evening shift, which means I got to take some of the leftover stuff and pad our share out a bit. On this table, you see the following: 5 kohlrabi, 2 bunches scallions, 5 summer squash, 4 cucumbers, 2 heads red-leaf.. Read More

I’m trying to be a good girl, and actually give a little word-space to all the stuff I’ve been too lax to blog up proper in the past few months. To that end, I present Part the Sixth: VARIOUS AND SUNDRY COMPETITIVE KNITTING. From left to right, top to bottom: knit caps for a children’s hospital, a double-knit.. Read More

Playing catch-up, Part 2: Lace things
I’m trying to be a good girl, and actually give a little word-space to all the stuff I’ve been too lax to blog up proper in the past few months. To that end, I present Part the Second: LACE STUFF. I knit this shawl up, as they say down at the docks, for the halibut. I had the yarn from a gifty-swap thing from eons ago, and was itching to.. Read More
Playing catch-up, Part 1: The Self-Imposed Sock Club, 2012
I’m trying to be a good girl, and actually give a little word-space to all the stuff I’ve been too lax to blog up proper in the past few months. To that end, I present Part the First: SOCKS. January Socks: Knit up in a very, very soft yarn hand-dyed by some lady in Portland, OR. The colorway is called Hawthorne Street, the pattern Leyburn. It’s actually sort of “quilted;”.. Read More
Little Red Project #2 – Angostura
Yes, I am late. I marked this sweater as finished on April 11, 2012, and please note the date of this post. But hey, at least it’s here! And I have yet to cast on the next Little Red sweater, so I guess it’s still okay. Anyways, onwards! Ladies and gentles, I present Angostura. I joined a knit-along for it on Ravelry rather late in the game (once I’d finished the.. Read More
