From Colette’s Seamwork magazine, the Mesa Dress. Apt pairing of fabric and pattern? Methinks yes. Fabric is a rayon jersey I got from the same Craftsy sale as the tank dress from last summer. I’d had it earmarked for this specific pattern, and then (big shock) added this project to the Wardrobe Architect pile. It’s a simple shirtdress style, very comfy and good for wearing over leggings in the fall and winter. Oddly enough, it’s one of the few things that I think looks better on me than it does on Geraldine. 🙂 It came together super-fast thanks to my magical serger, but I let it languish for a bit before I hemmed it. My faux-coverstitch technique still needs some work, as my twin needle stitching consistently tunnels up in the middle. My Nanny Jo sent me a massive box of fabric last month, and one of the items in it was a cool jacquard-ish jersey with sheer spots. I’m thinking another Mesa, possibly with an elbow-length sleeve, would be perfect Rock Star™ attire for Supermajor shows.

But new garment planning aside, another piece complete for the Wardrobe Architect Challenge! 6 down, 7 to go!
