This was really the only thing I finished in September. But it was fun, and not as wonky-looking as my silly camera wants to make it.

This is a cute little sweater from last year’s Spring/Summer Knitty, knit up in some lovely Madelinetosh Merino Light I got when Mr. Boyfriend and I went to Chicago last October. I found some mismatched but coordinating buttons in stash, and that’s pretty much all she wrote. I more or less followed the pattern instructions, but I’d consider them much more a “recipe” than a full-on pattern. I made some mods here and there to use up as much yarn as I could, including unraveling my cast off along the bottom and knitting it longer after discovering I had plenty of yarn left post-buttonband. It looks kind of homemade, but I really don’t mind. I made it to be a toss-on-and-go sweater for the cooler weather of fall and spring, and it certainly fits that bill to a T.
