Finished, at long long last.
I started this cowl with an entirely different yarn back in November, and after setting the project aside for a bit, misplaced it so catastrophically that I have not yet found it. Which sucks, since I also lost a perfectly good Addi lace needle, my favorite project bag, and a handful of really great Bryspun stitch markers. Growl. Not to mention the 500 yards of lovely single-ply cashmere in the most delicate and subtle hand-dyed blue…
So yeah. Still really sad that I lost it. Can you tell?
But the saddest bit is that despite setting the project aside, I really really wanted the cowl. Especially when the weather here in the city got all soggy and spring-like. So I caved. I bought a new needle and a new skein of laceweight cashmere, this time in a lovely and subtle hand-dyed blue-green. And I finished it.
After blocking, I probably could have done with another chart repeat for length, as I had plenty of yarn left and it does ride up in the back if I wear the tube up over my head with my hair up. But, true to my usual form, I was just too eager to have done with it to really give the matter some thought. Other than that, it’s perfect. Soft, warm, light, and every so fluffy against my neck. I wore it all day yesterday
