Well, maybe not so new. But with a job that requires me to dress like a “grown-up” instead of in jeans and a t-shirt every day, I’ve discovered a new impetus and dedication for my sewing. And while this whirlwind of new projects has been a lot of fun, it’s been… difficult. You see, Nancy has been getting up in years, and she’s not used to working this much.
Her buttonhole foot was really flimsy, and she was having a lot of thread tension issues that were making finishing seams difficult. So I figured if I was going to be serious about sewing a whole new wardrobe, I needed to reinvest in my tools:
To that end, meet Evelyn. I traded Nancy in for retirement and got a little discount on this fine lady. Bernina machines are kind of like the Apple of the sewing machine world; they are simple to use and very good at what they are designed to do. So far, working with Evelyn has been a dream. I’ll be sharing some of her results soon!
