Not really.  But I have been maintaining a post-a-week trend, just on very different days.  That’s good, right?

I’ve also had a lot of coffee this morning and/or my listless sleep last night is infecting my thought processes.  I’ve got ideas jumping like jackrabbits.  I had to just stop writing this post because I had to send Lis an email right! this! second!

Anywhoodle, I’ve finished some stuff in the knitting/crochet world of late, both my February socks for Sock Club of My Own Invention and a host of squares for the Crochet a Rainbow project.

Here is one lone Phoenix sock. They really are both finished. And comfy.

I loved working with this yarn, and the pattern was a cinch after I memorized the repeat.  I finished the first one over Christmas when we were in Tennessee with the fam, but they got set aside when we returned.  My plan for February was to finish the second sock of this pair and the rainbow Noro socks of two posts ago, so I technically finished a pair of socks this month, in that I knit two, but they belong to different pairs.  Oh well.  My sock drawer was ecstatic to have them, especially since after a brief taste of spring we sunk right back into a cold/wet snap.

Eleven squares, hopefully the harbinger to many more

I think I’ve mentioned the deal with the Crochet a Rainbow project in the blog before, but if not, here goes: a very nice lady is collecting granny squares in happy-making colors to make into afghans for people who lost their homes in the Queensland floods earlier this winter (their summer).  The plan at the moment is to find a way to finagle more squares into each subsequent round of the Nerd Wars/BSG games, and then send the whole lot to her after the games end in April.  Hopefully by then I should have 30-40 or so, and I can stuff them into a flat rate post box and economically get the biggest donation I can to Oz.  If you are a crocheter, and have a big happy-colored stash of 100% wool or 100% acrylic hanging about, you can volunteer for (or just read more about) the project here (link).

Thanks to a really lovely post by Amanda of Currently Purring (link), I’m currently listening to a band called Barcelona.  They’re sort of emo-pop of the best variety (kind of a Daniel Powter- La Rocca-, Coldplay-ish thing).  I’ve been having a real guilty pleasure week with music, from Spice Girls to Flogging Molly to Lady Gaga.  So they’re really turning out to be a fitting end to my week.  While GrooveShark (link) is my listening medium of choice at work, I might have to cave and buy this album.

Not much happening on the cookery front lately.  I’ve been meaning to post my Caramel Apple Pie recipe/make-along for ages, so maybe one of these days I’ll actually get to it.  We have a whole host of guests coming in this weekend, so I’m hoping there will be a trip to new and exciting gastronomic territory very soon that I can squee about on the blog!

Welp, I don’t have too much else to share at the moment.  I’ll probably be back next week, waxing excited about food and the new projects I’m lining up for the next round of challenges in my tourneys of knit-geekery and my stupid cat.

Did I mention our cat is stupid?  She really is kind of a goofball.

I mean really. Who sleeps in a sink?
